Thresher Men's Indoor T&F Up One Spot to No. 14 on the USTFCCCA NAIA Ratings Index

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the third edition of the 2021 NAIA Ratings Index for the indoor track and field season. The Thresher men's indoor track and field team moved up one stop in this latest ranking, coming in at No. 14.

The Threshers have been ranked in each of the three NAIA Ratings Indexes the USTFCCCA has released this year. The team started off at No. 11 before sliding to No. 15 in last week's edition. All three of these rankings are the first for the program by the USTFCCCA, which has consistently released its NAIA Ratings Index since the 2017 season.

Bethel saw a bump in their overall points scored this week, thanks to six performances at their home Thresher Invitational this past Saturday.

Austin Cheatham upped his season-best shot put throw to 16.70 meters, good for the furthest in the conference and fifth-best in the NAIA thus far.

The 4x800 relay team of Laytham Magana, Isaiah Bartel, Nick Morgan, and Mauro Arancibia Campos came across the finish line in a track-adjusted time of 7:57.52, a new program record and seventh-best time in the NAIA.

Trey Palmer was also able to crack the NAIA Top 10 with his blistering time of 6.85 in the 60-meter dash, good for third-fastest in program history and ninth this season in the NAIA.

Mauro Arancibia Campos was the final Thresher to join the NAIA Top 10 last weekend, posting a 4:24.14 mile time just three seconds off the program record.

Isaiah Bartel and Kemroy Cupid rounded off their additional points total last weekend, upping their season-bests in the 1,000 and 400 meter runs, respectively.

The No. 14 Threshers remain the third-highest program on the list from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, only trailing No. 5 Saint Mary and No. 6 Friends.
