NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Bethel College runner Bethany Schrag will make program history on Sunday, December 14, competing in the NAIA Marathon Championships as part of the BMW Dallas Marathon in downtown Dallas.
Schrag is the first athlete in Bethel history to represent the program in the marathon at the national championship level. The 26.2-mile race will begin at 8:00 a.m., starting and finishing in downtown Dallas at City Hall Plaza. The BMW Dallas Marathon is also a Boston Marathon qualifier.
Her preparation for the race began in June with months of summer training and continued through the fall season.
Fans and supporters are encouraged to offer words of encouragement throughout the weekend. Schrag's race can be followed through official tracking provided by the BMW Dallas Marathon.
