Salina, Kan- The Bethel men's tennis team continued its hot streak with a strong 6-1 win over Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday morning in Salina.
After dropping the top doubles match, the Threshers bounced back with authority at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions. Jorge Batista and Jonah Bergeron claimed a 6-2 victory on court two, while James Menard and Billy Haoda locked in a 6-3 win at No. 3 to secure the doubles point.
Bethel remained locked in throughout singles, taking five of the six matches. Petr Kollar made quick work of his opponent at No. 2, dropping just two games total. Rodrigo Sanchez and Billy Haoda were equally dominant in their straight-set victories at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Zaidh Zihar outlasted his opponent in a third-set super tiebreaker, and Jonah Bergeron wrapped up the match with a steady win at No. 6. The lone setback came at No. 1, where Jorge Batista fell in a tight three-set battle.
