Men’s Tennis Tops Friends on Senior Day, Secures 2nd Place in KCAC

North Newton, Kan. - The Bethel men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 6-1 victory over Friends University on Senior Day, finishing KCAC play with an 11-1 record and securing the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.

The Threshers opened strong with a hard-fought doubles point. James Menard and Billy Haoda rallied from a 1-3 deficit to win 6-3 at No. 3 doubles, while Zaidh Zihar and Petr Kollar sealed the point with a 7-5 win at the top spot.

In singles, Petr Kollar continued his dominant form with a quick 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2. Billy Haoda added a solid victory at No. 3, and Zaidh Zihar found his rhythm late in the first set before cruising to a win at No. 4. Rodrigo Sanchez clinched the match at No. 5 with a 6-2, 6-1 win, and Jonah Bergeron added a straight-set win at No. 6. The only setback came at No. 1, where Jorge Batista fell in a tightly contested three-set match.

The team honored seniors Josh Leinbach, James Menard, Jordan Twenter, and Elias Harder during the final home match of the regular season.
