Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's Tennis Wraps Up Strong Season with KCAC Semifinal Appearance

Lindsborg, Kan.- The Bethel College men's tennis team saw its impressive 2025 season come to an end on Friday afternoon, falling 4-1 to McPherson in the KCAC semifinals. The Threshers finished the year with a strong 17-5 overall record, an 11-1 mark in regular season conference play, and a 2nd-place regular season finish.

In Friday's semifinal, Bethel started strong by winning two of the three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Petr Kollar and Zaidh Zihar earned a 6-4 win, while the No. 3 duo of James Menard and Billy Haoda secured a 6-3 victory to give the Threshers the early doubles point.

However, McPherson was able to rally in singles play, capturing victories at the No. 2, 3, 4, and 6 spots to clinch the match. Despite the setback, Bethel fought hard, with several matches featuring tight sets and extended battles.

While the loss was disappointing, the future for Bethel men's tennis is incredibly promising. Out of the six singles players who competed in Friday's semifinal, all six are set to return next season. Additionally, five of the six doubles players from the semifinal lineup will also be back, giving the Threshers a young, talented, and experienced core to build around.

This season showcased the depth, resilience, and potential of the Threshers, who consistently delivered big wins and pushed the top teams in the conference. With nearly the entire lineup returning, Bethel is poised for even bigger things in 2026.
