Adriana Leake

Adriana Leake is in her fifth season as the head coach of the Thresher volleyball program.

In 2024, they finished 4th in the conference winning every home match during the season. She coached two all KCAC first teamers, Cameron Offerle and Darla Crow, and two 2nd team All-Conference players, Laci Ownbey and Mia Roman and one 3rd teamer, Kylah Carter. They made the semi-finals of the KCAC Tournament losing to eventual conference tournament champion, Oklahoma Wesleyan. 

Throughout the 2023 regular season, freshman Darla Crow was leading the nation in blocks. She was named KCAC Defender of the Week 4 times and eventually was named KCAC Defender of the Year along with four other All-KCAC selections on the team.

In the 2023 season the Threshers finished the regular season 22-9 and 11-2 in KCAC play. In the postseason tournament they advanced to the semifinals after beating Evangel, picking up their first postseason win since 2010. Later, they would fall in the semis to Kansas Wesleyan.

In the 2022 season, the Threshers finished fourth in the conference after losing to Saint Mary, the eventual champion, in the KCAC postseason tournament. In that season, Leake coached four All-KCAC selections.

Leake comes to Bethel after serving as the head volleyball coach at Wichita Northwest High School. While there, Leake helped lead the Bears to a Kansas 5A Sub-State Championship in 2020. She was named the Wichita City League Co-Coach of the Year by the Wichita Eagle due to her team’s successful season.

Leake put together a stellar playing career at Sterling College from 2009-2013. She is currently the all-time assists leader at Sterling, with over 4,000 recorded. Leake was a four-time All-KCAC player at Sterling, and was named the 2013 Outstanding Senior Female Athlete at Sterling College.

Leake graduated from Sterling in 2013 with a bachelor’s in business administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. She also holds a master’s of science in education from Fort Hays State University, completed in 2019.

Leake also has previous coaching experience as an assistant at both Sterling and Friends University, as well as Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School in Wichita. She is currently a coach with the Wichita Legacy club organization.

Adriana and her husband Tavis reside in Newton with their sons, Ace, Valentino, and Santiago.Â
