NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Volleyball team played host to the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes Wednesday evening. The Threshers dropped the first three sets to the Coyotes by scores of 25-10, 25-19, and 25-9.
The first set started as a back and forth match with the Coyotes slowly pulling away. KWU used a 6-0 run and a 7-0 run to put the Threshers away in the first 25-10.
Trailing 13-6, Bethel strung together five straight points with
Mia Roman serving to get right back into the second set. Kansas Wesleyan answered back a few points later stringing together their own 5-0 run on their way to taking the set 25-19.
The Threshers showed life early in the third set jumping out to a 3-1 early lead. The Coyotes took the lead with a 5-0 run to force a Bethel timeout. After the timeout, KWU caught fire as they would take the set 25-9.
Bethel will be back in action on Saturday Oct. 9th as they host Tabor College with JV starting at 12:30 PM and the varsity match starting at 2:00 PM inside Thresher Stadium.
