Threshers Drop 78-72 Matchup with Friends in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. - The No. 12 Bethel College Men's Basketball team started their three game road trip as they took on the Friends Falcons Tuesday evening in Wichita. The Threshers were outscored by three points in each half as they fell to the Falcons 78-72 to move to 5-2 overall, 1-1 in the KCAC.

The Threshers controlled the contest early in the first half as they held a lead for much of the first 10 minutes of the opening period. Friends built up the biggest lead for either team in the half when they reached a nine point lead multiple times in the first half. Bethel closed out the half strong outscoring the Falcons 11-5 to trail 41-38 at the intermission.

The second half was nearly identical to the first, with the Threshers controlling the contest during the opening minutes with Friends taking control around the halfway mark. The Falcons built their lead up to 11 points with just over a minute and a half left in the contest when the Threshers turned up the pressure. Bethel scored seven straight points to cut the lead to four points with a minute left. Unfortunately, the Threshers struggled to get shots to fall in the final minute of the contest as they went 0 for 4.
