NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team played host to the no. 8 Sterling Warriors for their last competition until the New Year. The Threshers caught fire in the second half, but weren't able to hold down the lethal Warrior attack as Sterling took the game 77-72.
Bethel started the contest slow being outscored 19-9 in the opening period as Sterling shot 50% in the opening frame. The Threshers bounced back strong outscoring in the Warriors in the second quarter by a point to trail by nine, 31-22 heading into the break.
The Threshers came out of the break absolutely on fire! Bethel knocked down 9 of 11 from behind the three point line on their way to a 33 point quarter.
Kendall Michalski was a perfect 4 for 4 from three point range in the quarter. After holding Sterling to 38% shooting in the middle two quarters and taking a 4 point lead into the final quarter, Bethel was unable to hold the Warriors offense down as they shot over 63% from the floor to close out the game. The Threshers were outscored by the Warriors in the final frame 26-17.
