Low Scoring Fourth Quarter Dooms Threshers in 72-51 Loss to Ottawa

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team hit the road for the fourth time in their last five contests as they took on the Ottawa Braves. Bethel took a seven point lead, 34-27, into the intermission, but couldn't get things going after the break in the 72-51 loss. 

The Threshers started the game hot jumping out to an early 11-3 lead, taking a 14-9 lead into the second quarter. Bethel led the entire first half with their biggest lead, ten points, coming halfway through the second quarter. Josie Calzonetti led the Threshers in the first half with 9 points as they took a 34-27 lead into the break.

Ottawa came out of halftime ready to play, the Braves outscored the Threshers 24-13 in the third quarter to take a 51-47 lead into the final period. The offensive and defensive struggles continued in the final quarter for Bethel as they scored just four points in the final ten minutes while giving up 21 points to the Braves.
