WICHITA, Kan. - The Thresher Women's Soccer team hit the road as they traveled south down I-135 to take on the Friends Falcons. Bethel would take an early lead, but the Falcons would use two second-half goals to take the 2-1 victory.
Â
Claire Hedlund would receive a pass from
Sydney Brown and outrun a Falcon defender for forty yards before beating the keeper to put the Threshers up 1-0 in just the third minute.Â
Â
Neither team would capitalize on their opportunities for the rest of the first half as Bethel would go into the break with a 1-0 lead.Â
Â
In the 54th minute, the Falcons would get on the board and tie the contest 1-1. Just six minutes later, they would take the lead after the Thresher defense let a ball bounce around the box before a Falcon punched it in the goal.Â
Â
Thresher goalkeeper
Maddie Prager would finish the contest with 8 saves.
Â
The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 2 as they host Randall University in a rescheduled match from earlier in the year at 12:00 PM.
