BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - The Bethel College Men's Soccer team faced off with the no. 21 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles on Friday night. The Threshers gave up two very early goals and could never recover as they fell 6-2.
The Eagles got the scoring started in just the third minute to jump out to a lead from nearly the start.Â
Bethel's defense succumbed to the pressure again just six minutes later when the Eagles were successful in doubling their lead.
OKWU added one more goal in the 21st minute to take a 3-0 lead into the intermission.
The Eagles scored three more goals in the first 25 minutes of the second half to push their lead to six.
Bethel was able to get on the board twice in the waning minutes when
Juan Demichelis and
Louis Etienne would both score goals assisted by
Lucas Pardo.
Unfortunately for the Threshers it was too little too late as they dropped the road contest 6-2.
Bethel was out-shot by Oklahoma Wesleyan 12(8) to 7(4).
The Threshers will be back on the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 12th as they host the Ottawa Braves in James Cottage's first return to Bethel since departing in the spring. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM.
