NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team took on Manhattan Christian for a non-conference contest over the Threshers' KCAC bye. Bethel scored the first 23 points of the contest as they cruised to the 99-39 victory to move to 3-7 on the year.
The Threshers used
Jordyn Lyons hot hand to take a first quarter lead of 31-5. Lyons went 4 of 5 from the floor and 2 of 3 from deep for 10 points in the opening frame. After shooting over 57% in the opening frame, the Threshers cooled down in the second shooting just over 43%. However, they were able to keep up the pressure defensively as they forced 22 Thunder turnovers in the opening 20 minutes of play.
The third quarter saw Bethel turn in their most efficient quarter of the contest as they shot just a tick over 61% with multiple girls not missing a shot. The Thresher defense continued to stiffle the Thunder as they held them to just 10 points in the final 10 minutes of play.Â
