Men's Basketball comes out victorious on Senior Night 80-54

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team hosted the Avila Eagles inside Thresher Gym for their senior night. All five seniors that will be leaving the program following the conclusion of this season scored in the Threshers 80-54 route of Avila. 

The Eagles were able to keep the contest close early on in the first half, until the Threshers were finished playing around. At the 12 minute mark in the opening half, the Threshers kicked it up a notch and turned up the pressure going on a 13-2 run to blow the game wide open. Bethel gave up just 28 points in the opening 20 minutes while they were able to hand up 48 themselves. 

After shooting over 51% from the field in the opening half, the Threshers cooled off bit in the final 20 minutes of the game but kept control of the contest throughout. Seniors Miki Zewge and Jordan Neely scored 6 points a piece to lead Bethel in the second half as the Threshers coasted to a 26 point victory.

The Threshers were able to put up big offensive numbers despite their leading scorer, Jaylon Scott, not getting in the point column until under 3 minutes left in the contest with a break away dunk. Scott was able to get the Threshers offense going with his passing throughout the contest.
