NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team played host to the Tabor College Bluejays on Wednesday afternoon inside Thresher Gym. After being tied at halftime, the Threshers were outscored by the Bluejays by 16 in the final 20 minutes as they fell 59-43.
The first half was a very even contest throughout. The score was tied at 28, both teams made 11 baskets from the floor, 7 assists, 3 blocks and both were perfect from the free throw line. The rebounding total was off by one in favor of the Bluejays, 17-16.
Alex Bearup(8 pts),
Josie Calzonetti(6 pts) and
Josie Stupey(5 pts) carried the load for the Threshers offensively in the opening half.
Tabor turned up the defensive pressure in the second half while knocking down more shots. Bethel shot just over 18% from the floor while the Bluejays shot over 52% from the floor in the second half.
