HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Tennis team took on the Tabor College Bluejays in a rescheduled match on Monday afternoon. The Threshers won the doubles point before nearly sweeping the singles matches as they came away with the 6-1 victory.
Just like the women's match, the Thresher men won at #1 and #3 doubles to secure the point. At #1 doubles
Michael Cech and
Milan Bucek won their match 6-3 while
Tomas Quercia and
Joaquin Pluis handily won their match at #3 6-0.
Nolan Schrader and
Jordan Singh nearly completed the doubles sweep for the Threshers as they fell via the tiebreaker 7-6(4-0).
Bethel handled business in their first five singles matches before giving the Bluejays their only point at #6 singles. In the #1 singles spot, Cech picked up the two set victory 6-4, 6-3. Bucek, at #2 singles, won a 6-2, 6-4 match. At #3 singles, Schrader was able to hold on for the three set victory 7-5, 2-6, 10-3. Quercia, playing in the #4 position, also went to three sets 6-1, 7-6(3-0), 6-1. Pluis won his match at #5 7-5, 6-1. At #6 singles Singh dropped his match 7-5, 6-4.
Bethel will be back on the court on Thursday, April 7th as they travel to McPherson to take on the Bulldogs with first serve scheduled for 10:00 AM.
