NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Soccer team opened up KCAC Conference play with hosting the Avila Eagles. After the Eagles took a 2-0 lead into the intermission, both teams scored a goal in the second half as Avila took the contest 3-1.
Avila opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a goal that made it over the top of the keeper from 31 yards out.
They added to their lead in the 44th minute with another long distance goal.
After taking a 2-0 lead into the halftime break, Avila added to their lead in the 82nd minute.
The Threshers finally got on the board in the 87th minute when
Claire Hedlund found the back of the net assisted by
Sydney Brown.
Bethel will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 21st as they travel to take on Bethany College with kickoff set for 5:00 PM.Â
