HUTCHINSON, Kan. - After winning their first KCAC tournament contest since 2010 in a 3-1 victory over Evangel, the Bethel College volleyball team had their season ended by Kansas Wesleyan 3-0 in the KCAC Semifinal.

The Threshers started their day off with an extended set in which they saw two set points prior to a Valor set point. BC responded winning the next three points to take the match 28-26. After switching sides, Evangel evened the match with a 25-21 victory.Â

Following the set two loss, the Threshers turned it on as the only time they trailed was the first point of the third set. Bethel responded to Evangel evening the match by out-scoring them 50-32 in the final two sets to advance to the KCAC Semifinals.

Kylah Carter led the offensive attack in the victory with 12 kills.
Darla Crow racked up a game-high 5 blocks while
Katey Wilhelm turned in 25 digs to lead the defense.
Mia Roman recorded 27 assists in the four set victory.

Following a 16-14 fifth set victory in their quarterfinal match, the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes, who snapped the Threshers' 14 game winning streak earlier in the season, proved to be too much for BC once again. Â

After hitting .233 against the Valor, the Threshers hit just .155 against the Coyotes. Bethel's defense was able to hold KWU to hitting .189 in the loss.Â

Bethel finishes their 2023 campaign as the best defensive team in the KCAC as they lead in total blocks and are second in digs.
Darla Crow finishes the season as the nations leading blocked racking up 179, good for the second best blocks per set mark in the country.

The Threshers finished their season winning 19 of their final 22 contests. Their last loss to a team that will not find themselves in the NAIA National Tournament came on September 1st, a 3-1 loss to Morningside.
