Nine Student-Athletes earn Daktronics NAIA Women's Volleyball Scholar-Athlete Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On Tuesday afternoon, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released its 2023 Daktronics NAIA Women's Volleyball Scholar-Athletes.

The 2023 list features 1,200 student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

The Threshers representatives on the list were seniors Kaitlyn Shima, Kylah Carter, Lauren McCreary and Tessa Lies. Maddie Chupp, Mia Roman and Sophia Chindamo were the three juniors to earn the award, while Gracia Duron and Kate Eichelberger were the lone sophomores on the list for Bethel.
