Crow named KCAC Defender of the Year; Boone, Carter, Offerle and Shima earn All-KCAC selections

WICHITA, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2023 Volleyball All-KCAC Selections and individual award winners, as voted upon by the conference's volleyball coaches, on Thursday morning. Darla Crow headlined the Bethel College selections earning the conference's Defender of the Year award after leading the country in blocks during the regular season.

To go along with her Defender of the Year selection, Crow earned a First Team All-KCAC honor as well. She tallied 177 blocks during the 2023 campaign, just one more than the next closest. Crow averaged 1.55 blocks per set, good for the second best mark in the country, while appearing in every set for the Threshers this season. Darla finished third on the team in kills racking up 218 over the 31 contests, hitting a team high .276 for qualifying players.

Joining Crow on the All-KCAC First Team was Kylah Carter. Carter led the Threshers in kills this season racking up 301, hitting .193. Kylah also recorded a team high points with 336.5 while also playing in all 31 contests. Carter finished the year with 65 blocks and 71 digs.

Bethel's lone All-KCAC Second Team selection was Cameron Offerle. Cameron racked up the second most kills on the season for the Threshers totaling 279 during her freshman campaign. Offerle added in 97 digs and 56 blocks as well.

Kaitlyn Shima earned an All-KCAC Third Team selection after commanding the Bethel offense for a majority of the season. Shima finished the year with 659 assists, averaging 5.78 assists per set. Kaitlyn also recorded 23 kills and was third on the team in digs with 280, while adding in 7 blocks.

Jordan Boone also earned an All-KCAC Third Team selection. Boone finished the season second on the team in blocks with 92. Jordan finished with the second highest hitting percentage on the team among qualifying hitters with a .213, recording 157 kills.

Bethel earned the third seed in the KCAC Tournament and will be taking on the Evangel Valor on Friday, November 10th at 1:30 PM at Hutchinson Community College.
