NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Flag Football team opened up its inaugural season with two road contests against Kansas Wesleyan and Cottey. The Threshers return to Thresher Stadium on Wednesday, March 22nd for a 1 pm start time against Midland.
Bethel dropped its first contest in program history to KWU 60-0. They followed that up with a 33-0 loss to Cottey.
Flag Football is played on a smaller field than a regulation football field and has a few different rules. A few of those are that there are no fumbles, passes can only be caught beyond the line of scrimmage and offensive players cannot get in the way of a defender rushing the passer. A player can also not lateral the football anywhere on the field, only direct handoffs are allowed. For a full list of rules and regulations for the sport visit

The inaugural Flag Football team led by first year head coach Angela Rowe is made up of six freshman, three sophomores, a junior and a senior. The roster can be found
