NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Flag Football team started its second round of conference play as they took on the Cottey College Comets.
The Threshers won the toss and started with the ball. This drive turned out to be a historic one as Bethel drove the length of the field and punched the ball into the endzone for the first time in program history.
Bethel started the drive with a 27-yard pass from
Kylah Rome to
Victoria Esquivel to get the ball moving. Rome went 6 for 10 through the air on the drive capping it off with a 3-yard touchdown pass to
Jaquelle Tucker.
Neither team scored in the second quarter as the contest entered the second half with Bethel ahead 6-0.
The Comets put up 12 points in the third quarter with back-to-back rushing touchdowns from their quarterback.
Cottey added another touchdown in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to push their lead to two possessions.
