LINDSBORG, Kan. - Both Bethel College tennis teams competed in the weather impacted KCAC Fall Individual Championships over the weekend. With rain all day Friday, the two day event got squished into one day as all matches were played on Saturday between two sites.
The men's team won two championships as
Milan Bucek and
Jonah Bergeron finished first in #1 doubles and
Michael Cech won the #2 singles bracket.
Rodrigo Sanchez finished runner-up in #4 singles and in #3 doubles along with his partner
Tomas Quercia.
Bethel picked up three third place finishes from Bucek in #1 singles, Cech and
Petr Kollar in #2 doubles and Kollar in #3 singles.
The women picked up a third place finish in #2 doubles from
Patricia Huerta and
Nalea Payton.
Bergeron was eliminated from the #5 singles bracket with a quarterfinals loss to OKWU.
James Menard was also knocked out of his singles bracket in the quarterfinals by an OKWU player.
Halle Krehbiel lost in round one of the #1 singles bracket play.
Grace Dawes, playing #2 singles, was also knocked out in round one of bracket play.
Jenna Mahoney, Payton, Huerta and
Emma Evans were all knocked out of their respective singles brackets in the quarterfinals round.
Dawes and Krehbiel dropped the third place match in the #1 doubles bracket.

Charis Yager fell in the quarterfinals of #3 doubles.
Both Thresher swauds will be back in action on Tuesday, September 19th as they travel to Pratt Community College for a scrimmage.
