LINDSBORG, Kan. - The Bethel College men's soccer team used a high scoring second half to pull away from the Bethany Swedes 5-1.
The first half saw just one total goal scored as
David Rilhas broke the nill-nill tie in the 40th minute, assisted by
Filip Maksimovic.
The Threshers then went on to score two goals in three minutes as
Aleksa Oborina, assisted by
Aleksa Morovic, scored in the 66th minute and
Andrija Mitkovic, assisted by
Kevin Applewhite, scored in the 69th minute.
After the Swedes finally got on the board in the 82nd minute, Maksimovic put the game away for good with two goals just 33 seconds apart gave Bethel the 5-1 advantage. The first of Maksimovic's goals was assisted by
Cristobal Goldberg and the second was assisted by
Kevin Zavala.
Bethel out shot Bethany 19(11) to 8(3) on their way to the victory.
The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, September 23rd at 1:30 PM as they travel to Wichita, Kan. to take on the Friends Falcons.
