Women's Volleyball Outlasts Ottawa in 5 Sets,

The Bethel College volleyball team emerged victorious in a five-set battle against Ottawa University, improving their record to 18-7 and 6-1 in KCAC play. The Threshers showed resilience, taking the match 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11).

Set 1: Bethel Takes Control (25-23)

The first set was highly competitive, with Bethel edging out Ottawa 25-23. Laci Ownbey led the charge for Bethel with 7 kills, while Kylah Carter contributed with 4 kills. The Threshers hit .361 as a team.

Set 2: Ottawa Bounces Back (23-25)

Ottawa responded in the second set, taking it 25-23. Bethel had 13 kills but also committed 8 errors, which proved costly. Despite strong efforts from Ownbey and Cameron Offerle, who combined for 9 kills, the Threshers couldn't close out the set.

Set 3: Bethel Dominates (25-15)

Bethel regrouped in the third set, cruising to a 25-15 victory. The Threshers hit an impressive .433 as a team, with Darla Crow and Offerle combining for 10 kills. The team's defense also stepped up, limiting Ottawa's attack and taking a 2-1 lead.

Set 4: Narrow Defeat (23-25)

The fourth set mirrored the second, with Ottawa narrowly defeating Bethel 25-23. Bethel recorded 18 kills but committed 11 attack errors, which allowed Ottawa to stay in the match. Ownbey led the set again with 6 kills, but it wasn't enough to prevent a fifth set.

Set 5: Bethel Closes the Deal (15-11)

In the decisive fifth set, Bethel held on to win 15-11. Carter and Offerle contributed 5 crucial kills, while Jordan Boone added 2 key blocks. The Threshers hit .348 as a team in the final set to secure the victory.
