The Bethel College volleyball team celebrated Senior Night with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Sterling College (25-16, 26-24, 25-17). The match honored seniors Laci Ownbey, Mia Roman, Jordan Boone, Kylah Carter, Brooke Russell, Maddie Chupp, and Manager Ashton Roth, who were celebrated for their contributions to the program.
Set 1: Strong Start Fuels Bethel (25-16)
Bethel began the night with intensity, feeding off the energy in the gym and taking an early lead. Laci Ownbey and Cameron Offerle led the offense with 5 kills apiece, while Jordan Boone added a block. Bethel's solid defense held Sterling to a .000 hitting percentage, allowing the Threshers to take the set comfortably at 25-16.
Set 2: Bethel Battles Through Tight Finish (26-24)
The second set saw more resistance from Sterling, pushing Bethel to the limit. Offerle was once again a key player, contributing 6 kills, and Mia Roman added 12 assists to keep Bethel's offense moving. The seniors played crucial roles in the closing points, with Carter's kill and Roman's assist sealing the set at 26-24, giving Bethel a 2-0 lead.
Set 3: Seniors Lead Bethel to Victory (25-17)
Bethel closed out the match with a strong third set, winning 25-17. Ownbey recorded 4 kills, and Roman notched 10 assists, setting up consistent offensive plays. Chupp's two service aces added to Bethel's momentum as they pulled away to complete the sweep. The Threshers hit .438 in the final set, showcasing their offensive depth.
Conference Standings
With this Senior Night victory, Bethel moves to 21-7 on the season and 9-2 in KCAC play which keeps them at 3rd in the conference. They will have another home match Saturday against Avila at home at 2:30 PM
