Winfield, Kan. — The Bethel women's soccer team (3-5-2, 1-3-1) settled for a 1-1 draw against Southwestern (1-4-3, 1-1-3).
Bethel struck first in the 24th minute, as Leonie Kuhrt fired home a goal, putting the Threshers ahead 1-0. Kuhrt's effort came after a spell of sustained pressure, with Bethel dominating the first half in shots.
Despite holding the lead for nearly the entire match, Bethel was unable to close out the win. Southwestern managed to squeeze a shot past Bethel keeper Victoria Esquivel at the 89:59 mark to salvage the tie.
