Third Quarter: A Defensive Spark
Bethel showed toughness coming out of the locker room. Josh Ciers electrified the crowd with a 40-yard return of a blocked field goal by Rodrick Edwards for a touchdown, bringing the score to 31-17. Bethel's defense stepped up to hold Evangel scoreless in the third quarter, providing hope for a potential comeback.
Fourth Quarter: Evangel Seals the Game
Evangel dashed Bethel's hopes early in the fourth with a 55-yard rushing touchdown after failed onside kick attempt on their first play of the quarter, pushing the score to 38-17. Bethel's offense continued to fight but couldn't convert opportunities into points, closing out the game and the season.
Bethel finishes the 2024 season with a 5-6 record. The team celebrated the contributions of its seniors, who were apart of the some of the best Bethel College Football teams this decade including a conference championship and national playoff appearance.Â
