Men's Basketball Dominates Sterling to Secure Convincing Victory

STERLING, Kan.—The Bethel College men's basketball team put together one of its most dominant performances of the season, defeating Sterling College 83-62 on Wednesday night at the Gleason Center. The Threshers (7-5, 3-3 KCAC) were led by Carmelo Yakubu's outstanding game, scoring 26 points and pulling down eight rebounds.

Eli Wiseman added 20 points, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, while Cade Kittrell chipped in 17 points and six rebounds.

How It Happened

Bethel set the tone early, racing out to a 44-27 halftime lead thanks to red-hot shooting. The Threshers shot an impressive 62.5% from the field in the first half, with Yakubu and Wiseman leading the charge. Harper Jonas added a three-pointer and controlled the boards, finishing with a game-high 10 rebounds.

In the second half, Bethel maintained its intensity, extending the lead to as much as 21 points. Yakubu continued to dominate in the paint, while Kittrell provided timely baskets. The Threshers' defense was equally effective, holding Sterling to just 35.4% shooting for the game.

Sterling's Jayden Garrison led the Warriors with 13 points.
