SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Bethel College men's tennis team hit the road for spring break as they took on No. 23 Our Lady of the Lakes, Lewis-Clark and had their matchup with Missouri Baptist cancelled due to weather.
In their first match of the road trip, the Threshers fell 7-0 to #23 OLLU. Bethel lost #1 and #2 doubles by scores of 6-4 and #3 6-3.
Milan Bucek lost at #1 with a pair of 6-3 losses.
Michael Cech lost 6-0, 7-5 at #2.
Tomas Quercia lost with a pair of 6-2 sets at #3.
Petr Kollar fell 6-1, 6-2 at #4.
Rodrigo Sanchez lost 6-1, 6-4 at #5 before
Jonah Bergeron fell with a pair of 6-3 sets at #6.
In their 4-1 loss to Lewis-Clark, Bethel picked up wins at #1 doubles and #1 singles as the two sides played till clinch. Bucek and Cech won 6-2 in the first doubles position before BC fell 7-5 at #2 and 6-4 at #3.
Bucek also won his singles match 6-3, 6-1. Cech fell at #2 6-3, 6-2. Quercia dropped his match at #3 6-1, 7-5. Kollar was still leading in the third set when the match was clinched 6-1, 1-6, 2-1. Sanchez was up a set and tied in the second when the contest was final 7-6(7-4), 2-2. Bergeron fell at #6 6-2, 6-4.
Bethel had its final match of the weekend cancelled due to rain in the area.
The Threshers will be back in action on Wednesday, March 20th as they travel to Hillsboro to take on Tabor, beginning KCAC play.
