Women's Soccer and Texas Wesleyan Play to Exciting 4-4 Draw

Fort Worth, Tex - In what can only be described as a rollercoaster of a match, Bethel (KS) Threshers showcased their resilience and fighting spirit, clawing back from multiple deficits to earn a 4-4 draw against Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth on Tuesday afternoon.

First Half: Bethel Takes an Early Lead but Wesleyan Responds

The match started on a high note for Bethel, with forward Leonie Kuhrt finding the back of the net just 1:30 into the game. Kuhrt capitalized on a well-placed assist from the team to put the Threshers ahead 1-0 before Texas Wesleyan had time to settle into the match.

In the 33rd minute, Texas Wesleyan's Alexa Bezpalko equalized with a powerful unassisted strike, making the score 1-1.Wesleyan struck again just before halftime, this time through Mikayla Trevino in the 44th minute. Tt sent Bethel into the break trailing 2-1.

Second Half: A Dramatic Comeback and Late Equalizers

Texas Wesleyan extended their lead to 3-1 in the 78th minute, thanks to a goal from Kristine Garcia.

Facing a two-goal deficit with just over ten minutes left to play, Bethel needed something special, and that's exactly what they delivered. In the 79th minute, Malayasia Larque ignited Bethel's comeback with a well-placed goal, assisted by Kuhrt, bringing the Threshers within striking distance at 3-2. The momentum had clearly shifted, and Bethel capitalized further just eight minutes later when Larque once again found the back of the net. This time, it was an unassisted effort that tied the game at 3-3 in the 87th minute.

But Bethel wasn't done yet. Just a minute later, Madison Davis delivered what seemed to be the winning blow, scoring off an assist from Larque in the 88th minute to put the Threshers ahead 4-3.
