Women's Basketball Dominates Tabor in Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Kan.—The Bethel College women's basketball team put on a commanding performance Wednesday night, earning a decisive 68-46 victory over Tabor College at the Tabor College Gymnasium. The Threshers improved to 9-8 overall and 8-3 in KCAC play, continuing their strong season.

Natalie Richards led Bethel with 19 points, including four three-pointers, while Madyson McKinzie added 12 points and eight rebounds. Caryn Yoder was efficient in her 25 minutes, contributing 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting and grabbing five rebounds.

How It Happened

The Threshers took control early, holding Tabor to just 10 points in the first quarter and building a 16-10 lead. Bethel's defense continued to stifle the Bluejays throughout the game, limiting them to 30.4% shooting from the field.

Bethel extended its lead in the second half, outscoring Tabor 23-9 in the third quarter. Richards caught fire from beyond the arc, hitting three triples in the frame to help the Threshers pull away. The Threshers were relentless on the boards, finishing with a 40-27 rebounding advantage, including 11 offensive rebounds that led to second-chance points.

  • The Threshers went 19-of-26 (73.1%) from the free-throw line.
