YORK, Neb. — The Bethel College women's soccer team picked up a huge road victory on Wednesday night, defeating York 2–1 to keep their postseason hopes alive.
After falling behind early, the Threshers rallied in the second half. Melanie Torres netted the equalizer in the 64th minute off an assist from Malayasia Larque, before Lilli Reisser delivered the game-winner in the 89th minute, assisted by Torres and Beth Lloyd.
Jacie Scott recorded four saves in goal as Bethel held off a late York push to secure the win.
The result moves Bethel to 4–10–3 (4–7–1 KCAC) and into a three-way tie for ninth place with Ottawa and McPherson. With 16 points for Southwestern (7th), 15 for Avila (8th), and the three teams tied at 13, Bethel will need to win their regular-season finale to have a shot at the KCAC Tournament.
