North Newton, Kan. — The Bethel women's soccer team fell 1–0 to Southwestern on Saturday afternoon at Thresher Stadium. Southwestern's Kaitlyn Walker scored in the 14th minute off an assist from Millie Hazzard, and the Builders held on the rest of the way.
Bethel (1–8–2, 1–5–0) created opportunities throughout, recording eight total shots and three on goal. Malayasia Larque, Yuly Torres, and Aniaya Lugo each registered quality attempts, while goalkeepers Jacie Scott and Cadence McMenamy combined for one save in the match.
The Threshers will look to rebound Wednesday when they travel to Lindsborg to face Bethany College. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
