Kansas City, Kan. — Bethel College Volleyball is heading to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2008 and will take on the Yotes of College of Idaho this Saturday. Time is TBD.
After finishing 2nd in the KCAC and as the runner-up in the KCAC Tournament, Bethel Volleyball earned an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament. The last Bethel team to reach nationals did so 17 years ago in 2008, where they fell to Doane in the opening round, 3-0.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO
College of Idaho competes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, where they finished 4th and reached the quarterfinals of their conference tournament.
The Yotes enter Saturday's match with an 18-10 record.
Bethel and College of Idaho share one common opponent — Midland — a team Bethel defeated, while the Yotes lost to.
The two teams also met last season, a match Bethel won in five sets.
If Bethel wins on Saturday, they will advance to the Final Site of the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 1983. The tournament is set up as an opening round of 24 games, and then the winners of each of those matches advances to the final site in Sioux City, Iowa which will take place on December 3rd - 9th
