North Newton, Kan. — Bethel Women's Basketball took down Bethany inside Thresher Gym, 82–73, behind an almost-quadruple-double performance from Kendall Locke.
Before the game, Locke was recognized for breaking the all-time Bethel career assists record on Wednesday night. She followed that up by breaking another record and delivering one of the best individual performances in Bethel Women's Basketball history — finishing with 25 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists, and 10 steals. Her 10 steals set a new single-game Bethel record. She came just two rebounds shy of a quadruple-double and continues to make a strong early case as the best two-way player in the conference.
First Half
The opening half was back-and-forth with neither team able to string together many stops. Bethel forced 15 Bethany turnovers, but the Swedes shot an impressive 63% from the field to keep things tight. Locke was a defensive menace with 7 first-half steals, while Elena Jugovic provided a huge spark off the bench, scoring 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting. The half closed tied at 40. Bethany found early success leaking out in transition for easy layups.
Second Half
Locke and Caryn Yoder took control, scoring 14 and 10 points, respectively. Bethany had no answer as Bethel's offense caught fire — shooting 62.1% from the field in the second half and going 8-for-13 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
