MARSHALL, Mo. — Bethel Women's Basketball wrapped up the first half of the season Tuesday afternoon with a competitive road contest, falling 77–70 to Missouri Valley at the Burns Athletic Complex.
The game was tightly contested throughout, featuring multiple lead changes and extended stretches of back-and-forth play. Bethel stayed within reach from the opening tip and used a strong third quarter to shift momentum, scoring 20 points in the period while shooting efficiently from the floor.
The Threshers briefly grabbed the lead midway through the fourth quarter after a fast-break finish and a timely three-pointer, but Missouri Valley responded with a late push, converting key possessions down the stretch to regain control. Despite Bethel continuing to apply pressure and knocking down shots late, the Vikings sealed the game at the free-throw line.
Kendall Locke led all Threshers with 22 points, adding five rebounds, four assists, and seven steals in a strong all-around performance. Madyson McKinzie recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Karlee Locke finished with 11 points, including a pair of three-pointers. Alayna Vines provided a spark off the bench with eight points in limited minutes.
Bethel forced 21 turnovers and scored 16 points off those opportunities, while also converting 18-of-21 attempts at the free-throw line. The Threshers also generated 17 second-chance points, keeping the game competitive throughout the afternoon.
Bethel now heads into the holiday break before returning to action at home. The Threshers will host Park University on December 31 at 3:00 PM inside Thresher Gym.
