Salina, Kan - The Bethel women's tennis team earned a tough 5-2 road win over Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday, showcasing poise in critical moments to pull out the match.
Despite a dominant 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles from Daniela Herrera and Daniela Casique, Bethel dropped the doubles point after setbacks at the No. 2 and 3 positions. The team quickly turned the tide in singles, however, with Herrera and Casique notching convincing straight-set wins to even the score at 2-2.
The remaining matches all went the distance. Grace Dawes battled from behind to win in three sets on court three, while Jenna Mahoney earned a hard-fought win at No. 4. For the second straight match, Patty Huerta provided the clinching point at No. 5 singles, rallying in the third set to seal the team victory.
