Springfield, MO. - The Bethel women's tennis team continued its dominant run through KCAC play with a 7-0 sweep of Evangel University on Saturday in Springfield. With the win, the Threshers move to 9-0 in conference action and maintain sole possession of first place in the standings.
All three doubles pairings brought high energy and chemistry despite a few last-minute changes to the lineup. The team of Grace Dawes and Patty Huerta set the tone with a 6-2 win at No. 1, while Charis Yager stepped into the lineup and helped secure a 6-3 win with Daniela Casique at No. 2. Jireh Gonzalez and Kate Rowland rounded out the doubles sweep with a 6-0 shutout on court three.
In singles play, the Threshers delivered another clean sweep. Daniela Casique continued her strong form with a 6-4, 6-0 win at the top spot, while Grace Dawes and Jenna Mahoney followed with commanding straight-set wins. Patty Huerta battled back in the first set and then pulled away in the second for a win at No. 4. Kate Rowland and Camila Lopez also secured straight-set victories to complete the sweep.
