Bethel Falls in Second Half at USAO

Threshers battle through 70 scoreless minutes before the Drovers break through late.

Game Recap — Sept 6, 2025 • Chickasha, Okla.

Final: USAO 3, Bethel 0

Bethel men's soccer held nationally-respected USAO scoreless for over 70 minutes before the hosts found the net three times in the closing stretch. The Threshers defended bravely through heavy pressure and kept the match level until the 74th minute.

Goalkeeper Samuel Hernandez started the match and recorded three saves in the opening half to keep the score even at 0–0. Kazimir Kromwijk entered after halftime and was tested repeatedly, stopping five shots despite the late goals. Together, the Bethel keepers combined for eight saves against 33 USAO attempts.

The Threshers managed three shots in the match, highlighted by looks from Branden Balvanz, Aden Braggs, and Calvin Bell. Balvanz forced the lone save from the USAO keeper in the first half, while Braggs and Bell each created chances that carried just wide. Defenders Ivan Vrankic and Andrija Vasic went the full 90 minutes to steady the back line against constant pressure.

Though the scoreboard favored the Drovers, Bethel's discipline and work rate showed through in stretches of organized defending and counterattacks. The Threshers move to 1–3 on the season as non-conference play continues.
