SALINA, Kan. — Bethel secured a hard-fought 68–64 road win over Kansas Wesleyan on Wednesday night to move to 18–7 overall and 13–6 in KCAC play.
The Threshers controlled the game from the start and never trailed, building a 29–26 halftime advantage before closing it out down the stretch. Bethel shot 41.9 percent from the field and hit 6-of-14 from three while forcing 19 Kansas Wesleyan turnovers, turning them into 20 points.
Trenton Patterson led the way with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting, adding seven rebounds and three assists. Carmelo Yakubu poured in 19 points and scored key baskets late, including a three-pointer with just over a minute remaining to extend the lead. Albert Diarra added 13 points and four rebounds, while Dominick Harris knocked down three crucial free throws in the final seconds to seal the win.
Bethel finished with 32 points in the paint and executed in key moments, responding each time Kansas Wesleyan made a push in the second half.
The Threshers remain in a tie for fourth place in the conference standings and will return home Saturday night for Alumni Night against Ottawa. Tipoff is set for 5:00 PM inside Thresher Gym.
