NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Bethel College Men's Basketball placed five student-athletes on the 2025-26 All-KCAC teams as the Threshers prepare to host Southwestern tonight at 7 p.m. inside Thresher Gym. A trip to the KCAC Semifinals is on the line.
Bethel enters postseason play at 21-7 overall and 16-6 in conference action, averaging 79.8 points per game while outscoring opponents by over nine points per contest.
Senior forward Carmelo Yakubu earned First Team All-KCAC honors after leading the Threshers in scoring throughout the season.
Yakubu averaged 16.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 47.7% from the field. He added 101 assists and 53 steals, showing his ability to impact the game in multiple ways.
In conference play, he averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting 48.5% from the floor. His consistency inside and ability to score in traffic made him one of the league's toughest matchups night after night.
Junior guard Trenton Patterson "TP" was named Third Team All-KCAC following an outstanding season scoring the ball.
Patterson averaged 14.6 points per game and shot 45.5% from three-point range, knocking down 76 triples on the year. His ability to stretch the floor opened driving lanes and forced defenses to adjust.
In conference games, he averaged 14.4 points while continuing to shoot 45.0% from beyond the arc, establishing himself as one of the top scorers in the KCAC.
Albert Diarra – Honorable Mention All-Conference
Junior forward Albert Diarra earned Honorable Mention recognition after a highly efficient campaign in the paint.
Diarra averaged 9.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 64.6% from the field. His physical presence and ability to finish around the rim provided Bethel with steady interior production throughout the season.
During conference play, he shot 62.6% from the floor while averaging 9.4 points per contest.
Senior guard Dominick Harris was named to the KCAC All-Defense Team after anchoring Bethel's full court pressure.
Harris recorded 71 steals this season and averaged 9.4 points per game while playing nearly 30 minutes per contest. In conference play alone, he totaled 51 steals in 21 games, consistently disrupting opposing offenses.
His defensive intensity has been a major factor in Bethel's strong turnover margin throughout league play.
Freshman guard Rustan Griffen earned All-Freshman Team honors after appearing in 26 games and making 20 starts.
Griffen averaged 9.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 41.8% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range. His confidence and shot-making ability gave the Threshers another dependable scoring option from the perimeter.
In conference games, he averaged 8.9 points per contest while continuing to stretch defenses with his range.
With five All-KCAC selections, Bethel now turns its attention to Southwestern. The Threshers and Moundbuilders split the regular-season meetings, setting up a high-stakes matchup tonight with a semifinal berth at stake.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Thresher Gym.
