SOUTH SIOUX CITY, IA. — The Bethel College men's tennis team came down to the final match of the afternoon against No. 6 Morningside (ITA) on Saturday, but the Mustangs narrowly claimed a 4–3 victory at First Serve Tennis Center.

The tightly contested dual featured strong performances across the lineup and ultimately came down to No. 6 singles, where the outcome determined the team result.

Bethel opened the match by securing the doubles point. The duo of Zaidh Zihar and Petr Kollar earned a 6–4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Jorge Batista and Billy Haoda followed with a 6–3 victory at No. 2 to give the Threshers the early 1–0 advantage.

In singles play, Bethel picked up two key victories to stay even with the Mustangs throughout the match. Petr Kollar battled through three sets to claim a 6–4, 5–7, 7–5 win at No. 2 singles, while Rodrigo Sanchez secured a straight-set victory at No. 4 singles with a 7–5, 6–4 result.

With the dual tied 3–3, all eyes shifted to No. 6 singles. Bethel's Adam Tomka started strong, taking the opening set 6–2. However, Morningside's Gabriel Whiston responded by claiming the final two sets, 6–4 and 6–1, to clinch the match for the Mustangs.
