NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — The Bethel College men's tennis team has officially secured the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) regular season championship. The Threshers concluded their regular season with a dominant stretch of play, finishing with a 16-3 overall record and an unblemished 12-0 mark in conference competition.
Perfect Finish Against Friends and Ottawa
Bethel entered the final week of the season needing two wins to secure the outright title. They began the push on April 16 with a 7-0 sweep of Friends University. The Threshers took the doubles point with victories from Zaidh Zihar and Petr Kollar at #1 (6-4), Jonah Bergeron and Adam Tomka at #2 (7-5), and Jorge Batista and Rodrigo Sanchez at #3 (6-2).
In singles action against the Falcons, Jorge Batista battled back after dropping the first set to win 6-7, 6-4, 6-0 at the top flight. The rest of the lineup followed with straight-set victories:
The Threshers then traveled to Ottawa University on April 18 to close out the season with another 7-0 victory. Bethel swept the doubles matches, highlighted by a 6-0 shutout from Rodrigo Sanchez and Moses Sawatzky at the #3 position. Singles play was equally decisive, with Adam Tomka recording a "double bagel" 6-0, 6-0 win at #6 singles to cap off the perfect conference run.

As the No. 1 seed in the KCAC Championship, Bethel will look to translate their regular season success into a postseason title.
