Jason is in his first season as Associate Head Coach for Bethel College.
He comes to Bethel from Halstead High School where he spent the previous 8 seasons at the helm for the Dragons. He brings 23 years of high school coaching experience with him to Bethel, 21 of those years coming as a head coach.

During his time at the helm in Halstead, Grider led the Dragons to two sub-state finals, two league titles, six district titles in a row and seven straight playoff appearances.

Grider was named the 2014 3A Sports in Kansas Coach of the Year. He was a Shrine Bowl Assistant Coach in 2016.

While at Halstead, Grider coached Powerlifting and Track in addition to his football coaching duties. He led the Dragons to a 2021 3A State Championship in Men's Powerlifting, a State Runner-up in 3A Men's Powerlifting in 2019 and State Runner-ups in 3A Women's Powerlifting in 2016 and 2017.

Grider graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene in 1999 where he was an Academic All-American defensive end.

He currently resides in Halstead, Kan. with his wife Tonya, and children Courtney, Scott and Doug.
