Jason Nichols begins his first year on the Bethel coaching staff.  Nichols will be coaching the offensive line for the Threshers. 

Nichols began his coaching career in 2000 at Winfield High School where he coached the freshmen offensive and defensive line.  In 2002 he coached at Wichita North High School where he directed the varsity defensive line.  From 2003-06 Nichols coached at Campus High School coaching a variety of positions which included Defensive Coordinator for two years.  For the 2007 season Nichols coached the Defensive Line at El Dorado High School.  From 2008-10 Coach Nichols served as the Offensive Coordinator and switched to the Defensive Coordinator position his last year.  The 2011 season saw Nichols as the Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Cheney High School.

Coach Nichols played his college football at Southwestern College from 1996-99.  During his time in Winfield the team won the KCAC championship in 1997, 1998 & 1999 and went on to the NAIA playoffs in each of those years.  Nichols graduated in 2001 with a BA in Secondary Education (English) and began teaching in Wichita that year.  He has taught grades 6-12 over 11 years of teaching.  Currently Nichols teaches at Wichita Southeast High School.  Nichols also holds a Master's of Arts in School Leadership from Baker University.

Nichols met his wife of 13 years, Erin, in high school in Arkansas City.  Erin also attended Southwestern College.  The couple have two daughters, Madeline (8) and Riley (4).
