Jake Meyer is entering his first season as assistant coach for the Bethel College men’s basketball program.

Meyer is a 2009 graduate of Herington High School in Herington, KS where he played four years of basketball; three of those years under head coach Tony Hoops.

After high school, Meyer went on to Bethany College. While at Bethany, Meyer played for one year but then transitioned to student-assistant coach for his last three years under Head Coach Clair Oleen. During his last two years as student-assistant coach, Meyer was head coach of the JV program as well as assistant to the varsity team. During his Junior season, Meyer coached the JV Swedes to an undefeated KCAC record of 15-0. 

Following his coaching tenure at Bethany College, Coach Meyer served as an assistant coach at Halstead High School under Coach Hoops during the 2014 season. 

Meyer graduated in December 2013 from Bethany College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management and a minor in Coaching. 

At Bethel, Coach Meyer’s responsibilities include recruiting, scouting, post development, and head coach of the junior varsity team.

Meyer is the son of Ben and Kristi Meyer who live in Herington, KS. He also has a younger sister, Cara.
