Scott Weston

  • Title
    Head Coach

Scott Weston will enter his first season with Bethel College and Thresher Volleyball in 2016. Coach Weston comes to Bethel having an extensive volleyball background with 5 years as a collegiate Head Volleyball Coach at the NJCAA (Division I and II), NAIA and NCAA Division III Levels.

Most recently Coach Weston was at McCook Community College, a D-I in McCook Nebraska. Prior to Weston’s arrival, McCook had struggled with 9 wins in the previous two seasons combined. Weston’s 2014 team won 11 games, including a 3 set sweep over rival North Platte; the first time in over 22 years that a McCook Volleyball team had beaten North Platte and over 50 sets. Coach Weston was honored with the 2014 Region Nine Coach of the Year Award. Weston has also served as Head Coach at Clinton Community College and Iowa Wesleyan University in addition to McCook and served as an Assistant at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington Iowa.

Weston’s teams are no stranger to success in the classroom as well. Garnering many academic all-conference, player(s) of the week, all-conference, and all-region awards have been a staple of Coach Weston’s programs. Coach Weston gives his players heart, mind, commitment and they return it over and over. Coach Weston strongly believes in solid fundamental skill and a tremendous work ethic on and off the floor to achieve success. “I was lucky early on in my coaching career I had the opportunity to coach with my father. He coached high school baseball for nearly 30 years, maybe longer, and learning from him was the best thing I could have ever experienced.”

Coach Weston is a 2005 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Athletic Coaching. Coach Weston is married to Maureen Weston and they have a home in Keokuk Iowa. Maureen is a certified CSCS with the NSCA, serves as Senior Corporate Wellness Specialist with the Hoerner YMCA in Keokuk and is a Clinical Nursing Instructor with Southeastern Community College in Keokuk.
