Adam Esses will enter his first year with Bethel College and Thresher Women’s Basketball in 2016. Coach Esses comes to us with an extensive background in collegiate coaching, having held previous assistant and head positions over the past eight years.
Most recently, Coach Esses was at Kaskaskia College in Illinois, where for two years he served as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach/Athletic Director. During his tenure there, Esses led Kaskaskia to two NJCAA District P (Division I) Tournament Semi-Final appearances. He also coached four players who received All-Region honors, and one who was All-American.
Esses previously had spent four years at Upper Iowa University as assistant women’s basketball coach and recruiting coordinator. They also found success during his time there, including two players being named All-Conference and one winning Conference Freshman of the Year. Upper Iowa also found success in the classroom, where in Coach Esses’s final season they garnered a 3.801 Team GPA, which was best in the nation and honored by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Coach Esses holds a Master of Science in Education degree with emphasis in Mathematics/Science Teaching from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where he also served two years as a grad assistant on the women’s basketball team. Previously, Esses graduated from Bethany College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Math Education and had his start with collegiate basketball.
