Derrick Pringle Jr.

Derrick Pringle, Jr. is entering his first season as the head coach of the Bethel women’s basketball program.

Pringle comes to Bethel after leading the women’s basketball program at Simpson University, an NAIA institution in California, since 2007. Pringle was also an assistant athletic director at Simpson.

In Pringle’s 14 seasons with the Red Hawks, he was able to lead his team to 11 different top-four finishes in the California Pacific Conference regular season standings. This includes the squad’s best finish of 19-12 during his tenure, during the 2018-19 season.

Pringle coached five different Cal Pac and National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Freshmen of the Year, as well as one Newcomer of the Year. The Red Hawks also produced three NAIA and NCCAA All-Americans during Pringle’s tenure as their head coach.

Prior to coaching at Simpson, Pringle led the men’s basketball program at Puget Sound Christian College in Everett, Washington, from 2005-2007.

Pringle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Puget Sound Christian College and a Master of Education in leadership from Simpson University.
